Why is Snowy Range Offering this?

Wyoming is known as an outdoor mecca for sports enthusiasts, however, many kids and teens have never had the chance to Ski or Snowboard, due to the cost, distance, and other factors. Many children growing up in Wyoming and Colorado are more likely to see the mountains on television than to experience them first-hand. From day one, it has been a goal of Snowy Range management to remove as many of the barriers as possible for kids to learn to enjoy the great outdoors and specifically the sport of skiing and snowboarding.

Is this open to Wyoming students only?

No, the Kids’ Turn program is open to all, K-12th grade, students from anywhere. Space is limited so please sign up early.

What if student doesn’t know how to ski or snowboard?

No problem! The program is for all students whether they know how to ski or not. Now is the perfect time to learn. These are basic lessons that will help students gain the confidence to further develop their skills. Lessons are offered for specific ages on specific dates, and quantities are limited, so act quickly and book early.

What about equipment and lessons?

Both are included in the Kids’ Turn program along with an all mountain lift ticket.

Is there a discount if student already has equipment?

No, the Kids’ Turn program is only offered as a package deal. But please feel free to bring their own gear, or try out some of our new equipment.

What if student already knows how to ski or ride, do they have to take the lesson?

Yes. While this program is designed for “Never-ever” skiers or snowboarders, most students will be able to pick up something new from our instructors.

Will my student receive one-on-one instruction?

Instructors of the Kids’ Turn program do their best to offer instruction to all students, but unfortunately do to the nature of the open group lesson format, one-on-one attention is not available during the “Kids’ Turn” program.

What is the open group lesson format?

Instructors take all students enrolled in that day’s Kids’ Turn program to the magic carpet learning area. Instructors foster an environment of learning and fun. Instructors assist students with their gear, help them load the magic carpet, give students basic instruction and encouragement.

If lessons are offered Sunday afternoons, can student pick up lift ticket and rentals in the morning and ski all day?

The Kids’ Learn package deal is only offered as an afternoon program. Lift tickets will be handed out to students once they arrive for their lessons.
