Beginner/Never Ever

SKI:

  • CAN NOT PUT ON SKIS BY THEMSELVES
  • CAN NOT STOP (WITHOUT HELP)
  • CAN NOT TURN BOTH DIRECTIONS

SNOWBOARD:

  • CAN NOT J-TURN IN BOTH DIRECTIONS (FRONT FOOT IN)
  • CAN NOT STOP BY THEMSElVES (WITHOUT HELP)
  • CAN NOT TURN ONE DIRECTION (BOTH FEET IN)

Level 1

SKI:

  • CAN STOP (WITHOUT HELP)
  • CAN WEDGE TURN BOTH DIRECTIONS Cancel
  • CAN HOLD AN EDGE AND TRAVERSE THE RUN FACE
  • HAS LIFT EXPERIENCE

SNOWBOARD:

  • CAN SLIP BOTH EDGES
  • CAN J-TURN BOTH DIRECTIONS (FRONT FOOT IN)
  • CAN TRAVERSE IN BOTH DIRECTIONS
  • HAS LIFT EXPERIENCE

Level 2

SKI:

  • HAS ALL LEVEL 1 SKILLS
  • WORKING ON WEDGE TO PARALLEL TRANSITION
  • REFINING PARALLEL TURNS WITHOUT STOPPING
  • CAN CONTROL SPEED THROUGH TURN SHAPES (NOT WEDGE)
  • CONFIDENT ON LIFTS

SNOWBOARD:

  • HAS ALL LEVEL 1 SKILLS
  • WORKING ON LINKING TURNS IN BOTH DIRECTIONS
  • CONTROL SPEED THROUGH TURN SHAPE
  • CAN STOP WITH CONFIDENCE
  • HAS CONFIDENCE ON LIFTS

Level 3

SKI:

  • HAS ALL LEVEL 1 AND 2 SKILLS
  • MAINTAINS RHYTHM AND DEMONSTRATES SPEED CONTROL ON ALL TERRAIN
  • CAN HOCKEY STOP BOTH SIDES
  • WORKING ON CARVING AND MOGULS
  • BEGINNING TO CORRECTLY USE POLES

SNOWBOARD:

  • HAS ALL LEVEL 1 AND 2 SKILLS
  • CAN RIDE WITH EITHER FOOT FORWARD
  • COMFORTABLE WITH EASY BUMPS
  • DEVELOPING FREE RIDE SKILLS ON AND OFF-PISTE
